Oskaloosa Rides is a fixed-route bus system provided by 10-15 transit that stops at places like Mahaska Health Partnership, Wal-Mart and the downtown square. It is part of a community effort to improve transportation in Oskaloosa.
Oskaloosa Rides Free Summer
From May 31st through September 1st, 2017, the Oskaloosa Rides bus route can be utilized by all community members at no cost. Outside of these dates, regular prices apply.
Regular Prices and Schedule
The bus runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from at a cost of $1.00 per one-way ride. Kids and teens under 18 ride free. Monthly passes are also available for $15/month, or at a reduced rate of $10/month for senior citizens, college students, and people with disabilities. A complete map and schedule are provided below.
Tickets and passes are available at the United Way office, and Oskaloosa Hy-Vee, Fareway and Wal-Mart stores.
The Oskaloosa Rides Bus makes 17 stops as indicated on the map and schedule below. Additionally, you may signal the bus to stop as long as you are on the right side of the street, however the bus cannot make stops along A Avenue.
The bus is handicap accessible, but if a rider is unable to get to the bus stop due to a disability, Oskaloosa Rides offers a paratransit service that can pick up and deliver partrons who cannot make it to the designated bus stops. 24/7 Transportation by 10-15 Transit
If patrons need transportation on a day or time when Oskaloosa Rides isn't in service, they should contact 10-15 Transit about their door-to-door service which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Fares are $2.00 within Oskaloosa and $4.00 within Mahaska County. Trips must be scheduled a minimum of 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability of drivers and vehicles.
