Meet Kayla Slycord - Our 2008 Summer Intern
Kayla Slycord graduated in 2007 from Oskaloosa High School. She is currently a student and Presidential Scholar at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Her major is Marketing Management and she also plays on the Reivers Softball Team. In her spare time Kayla enjoys playing softball, fashion, and spending time with friends.
United Way of Mahaska County has given Kayla a lot of unique marketing experiences. She also volunteered her time to travel to Cedar Rapids during the 2008 Floods to answer 2-1-1 calls from flood victims around the area. Kayla had a great internship, learning a lot about human service providers and the non-profit world. She also enjoyed working with the fun people who are involved with United Way.
